Welcome to LiSimba's Blog!

Dear friends,

I write to inaugurate LiSimba Consulting Services, Inc.'s blog. We will be discussing on a regular basis, various aspects of cross cultural concerns as they exist in our global workplace. I will be referring to the chapter that I wrote in the ABA GUIDE TO INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS NEGOTIATIONS, Third Edition, May 2009, "Minimizing Risk: Best Practices for Managing Cross Cultural Concerns in Global Contracting". I will also be referring to other materials that have been published bringing my thoughts and work to a greater and greater global audience. Another such piece is the rule that I wrote on cross cultural aspects of collaboration in 42 RULES FOR SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION, Happy About Books, June 2009.

In our cyberspace working world, we "meet" individuals from many differing cultures on a daily basis. How do we come to "know" each other"? How do we make the most of each opportunity to work together, so that we:

1. Maximize the present financial opportunity,
2. Create a cross culturally trusting working relationship,
3. As a pathway for future work opportunities to continue working together for increasingly greater returns?

As a fundamental aspect of cross cultural relationships, how do we resolve disputes in a culturally appropriate manner so that we continue to build the trust necessary to continue to work together?

These questions and the many ways that they appear in our daily global workplace will be what we talk about on this blog.

Please send me your thoughts and questions and experiences for discussion. This blog is an excellent place to discuss all such inquiries.

Warm regards,

Jane
